Spacecraft
Brand Identity

+

Spacecraft was a community-driven, non-profit venue on Bainbridge Island that brought together music lovers together by bringing emerging artists to their stage and supported the artists with various programs.

They needed an identity and visual language that captured the curious and creative scene as well as marketing communication tools to spread the word. We were also very involved in helping design annual fundraisers with the staff which became memorable experiences. Thanks to photographer and director, Sam McJunkin for his amazing images and videos.

+ Strategy

Our approach to the Spacecraft identity began with a stylized logotype that was sophisticated but also fun. It needed to look crafted but modern. With an illustrative name, no main mark was need but we created a secondary spaceship icon out of the letter A. We then turned to the visual language including color, pattern and other visual elements and made those jump off the page. The look needed to be energetic and relevant to music lovers as well as having multiple photographic opportunities for marketing. We combined an eclectic mix of images and took liberties in writing copy that infused a fiery spirit for their savvy audiences. We applied the visuals to weekly posters, ads, photo booths and social posts and created a humorous collection of swag. The collage of elements and low budget DIY attitude, reflected the brand’s indie culture and bands that trekked from Seattle and beyond to the island.

Serving the culturally curious by bringing the freshest and most progressive musicians for creative inspiration
