Blanca Lighting is a women and minority owned architectural lighting design studio that has been lighting up commercial spaces. Their designers and architects are deeply passionate about lightning as well as striking a healthy life-work balance in all that they do.  

They needed a identity approach that captured their thoughtful and elegant lighting design while maintaining a purity and simplicity to their visual language. Everything you need, nothing you don’t.

+ Strategy

The identity began as a logical and simple radiance of light as the “source.” This seemed to relate best to how light fills a space and therefore the energy within. From there we wanted to craft and make the mark about precision and detail which reflected how Blanca approached their work—very methodically. The final element was to complement the elements with a sense of approachable warmth. Soft curves were added to the mark and typography to feel more inviting as well as a color palette that had an organic balance of energy and calm. In layouts, it was important to allow for ample negative space to allow the design elements, like light, to breath and fully embody their surroundings.
