Brightstar Therapeutics is an emerging biotechnology company focused on providing innovative treatment options that improve clinical outcomes and quality of life for people living with corneal and ocular surface diseases.
They needed an identity that looked forward and presented a sophisticated and warm lens of their technology while capturing the cellular growth innovation of their one-of-a-kind product.

+ Strategy
We rooted the base of the identity in Brightstar’s lead corneal product, BrightMEM, which is the first corneal allograft to actually promote cellular growth. It is made from the patient’s Descemet’s Membrane. The geometric identity resembles the organic cell growth as it radiates outward. From here we carried out soft rounded edges throughout the identity campaign including the typography to reinforce ocularity and applied a dynamically balanced color palette that merged medical blues and greens with active golds. Because the audience is doctors and surgeons, the visual vocabulary needed to be authentic and industry-accurate to communicate legitimacy.
